It used to be 15 contestants selected from the auditions of Trichy and Coimbatore. Finally we used to have 20 from chennai that making overall 50 contestants for the competitive rounds of Airtel Super Singer. But, in the last few seasons judges are not able to restrict the count and they tend to pick more and more talented contestants for the contest. This time too its similar and we have 58 contestants selected from Trichy and Coimbatore itself. With the Chennai auditions yet to be aired this week and we can expect atleast 40 kids to get chosen for the further rounds. Or maybe have it 42 to make it top 100 contestants of Airtel SUper Singer Junior 3.

Good thing to this season of the Airtel Super Singer is that they dont have this competition worldwide this time. Otherwise, its going to take few more months to get the show done. But, if the kids are really talented and impresses public, they would keep appearing the channel for long time as we see Srikanth in most of the weeks of Airtel Super Singer junior 3 till now. This year somehow I have a feel that the contestants turnout in the cities were not so great and I was expecting more kids to appear for the competition. Lets see how the Chennai kids come over for it and we have already seen some of them appearing in other cities to avoid the crowd and even to try it out to get a chance in lesser competition. WE will have to wait and see next week how things go.
