Coimbatore Auditions Day 3
First level of the audition got over yesterday and today we had the next level of the audition that will determine the contestants who will be going to Chennai for further compeitions. Satyaprakash was mentioned today as most known singer and most superb singer and compared for the kids to become like Satyaprakash. I strongly felt that they could have mentioned Sai Sharan's name along with Satyaprakash and why did they give the title to him. In Trichy they have shortlisted 30 kids for the next level of competition and the planned count was 15. Today we will have the kids to sing in front of all the judges together and adding to 3 judges we had one more so the list is with Nithyashree Mahadevan, Mahathi, Manicka Vinayagam and Pushpavanam Kuppuswamy. It will be difficult for the kids to sing in front of these four judges but this will be a real test and very good experience for them. Anandakannan and Kalyani continued to host the show for the Coimbatore auditions. Alan Francis, a kid in the competition came in front of all judges and impressed them by his singing and also with his dance. There was a sisters Sruti and Smriti from whom only Smriti got selected and with some drama in the show both of them were selected for the next competitive round.
This season we are having lot of folk songs by the coimbatore contestants and thats not surprising for me... Judges are asking many contestants to sing songs from multiple genres so that they get to know their capability. I felt its too early to expect these but they dont have much of choice to select few kids from a big lot. Also, some kids might not know their capability and some wrong choice of song might force judges to check out all genres. The audition went interesting today and Coimbatore kids looks to have lot of stuffs to prove. So, come back tomorrow to watch out for the other contetstants and how they perform..finally whether they get selected and will they beat the selection count from Trichy.
